What does TOBAR mean?
TOBAR is the Irish word for “well or spring,” a quiet, grounded source. The name reflects a design approach that draws from place, tradition, and depth. It speaks to the idea of designing with care, tapping into what’s already there, and bringing forward something thoughtful and clear.
At TOBAR, we create high-quality 3D visuals that help bring ideas to life. Our work blends creativity with careful detail, rooted in place and purpose.
Alongside visualisation, TOBAR also offers residential design and planning services. From early concept sketches to planning applications, we work closely with clients to shape homes that respond to their site, needs, and way of living.

TOBAR is a small design and visualisation studio run by Tess O’Brien, an architectural graduate with a passion for thoughtful, site-responsive design. Based in rural Ireland, offering a focused set of services in 3D visualisation and residential design.
My work is grounded in an interest in vernacular architecture and environmentally conscious design. I’m drawn to projects rooted in place and purpose, whether a new build, a renovation, or simply an idea someone wants to see take shape.
